--GM tilt design ignition switch sector gear shaft connects the ignition lock cylinder to the sector gear through the tilt housing. This design fits 1977 and newer vehicles. This shaft is flat on both ends (round in the center) and is for tilt columns only. The 5 tooth black sector gear presses onto this shaft.
